Buffalo NY Glamorous Backyard Wedding

There is so much to say about this wedding I don’t know where to begin! This was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen and I am just so blessed to have been able to capture it. This wedding took place in the backyard of the bride’s childhood home. One thing that really stands out from this wedding was that there was such extensive details planned throughout the day. The bride and groom had a watercolor logo that was seen throughout the entire day from the invite to the stationary, and even on some of the desserts! I loved that they incorporated their pets into their special day and even some Disney elements as well.

Not only was the décor amazing, but these two could be bridal models! Lauren looked breathtaking in that dress. I think it’s one of the most unique dresses I have ever seen! And one of the sweetest moments that sums up their relationship perfectly was when Lauren was walking down the aisle. Joey had one of the sweetest reactions to her and was obviously overtaken with emotion. He even dropped to his knees at one point. There was so much love between the two of them. This wedding was truly a fairytale and I can’t wait to share all these gorgeous photos!

Amherst State Park Romantic Engagement Session

I had to share this sweet engagement session! We had a blast together walking around Amherst State Park and finding all the delicious light there. It’s one of my favorite places to shoot locally because of that. These two are so loving towards one another and I love how you can see that even in these photos. I’m still obsessed with Karleigh’s floral dress. It was perfect for a summer engagement session. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in Geneva next year!

Fall Romantic Buffalo Wedding

I can’t wait to share this romantic fall wedding with you all at the Timberlodge! This wedding took place AFTER Thanksgiving on a cold and wet day. It literally rained the whole day except the tiny break we got right before photos. We still made the most of the day with umbrellas and shawls. These two were troopers and I think it paid off! We got some amazing photos. From our first meeting at coffee with them and their parents we hit it off! We all just clicked and it was meant to be. Sarah and Kyle are such a sweet couple. It’s so obvious that they belong together. They treat each other with kindness, respect, and so much love. I am so honored to have been part of your day. I wish you a life of love together!

Romantic Backyard Wedding in CNY

It was one of those weddings where I just felt so thankful for my job. I get to capture love in it’s best form. People dressed up in their finest clothes and pledging the rest of their life to one another. It was just such a beautiful day! When someone tells you that they are going to have a backyard wedding…you never know what to expect. But these two thought of literally every detail to make it such a perfect place to have a wedding. We officially met on the day of their wedding but it was so obvious these two are an amazing match together. They balance each other out..they push one another…they support one another. It was such a beautiful and heart felt day.

Longview Farms Wedding Trumansburg NY

I can’t wait to share this wedding with you all! This wedding took place at Longview Farm in Trumansburg, NY. It’s a 225 year old Italian farmhouse and guest house and it was one my all time favorite venues that I have shot at. This wedding was quaint, feminine, classy, and full of love! I just loved all the gorgeous details planned and the stunning ceremony site. The moose even had a floral crown. More than just the design of the wedding…these two are such a perfect match together. They shared so many puns and sweet moments on this day. I am so blessed to have photographed this wedding. It’s obvious it’s a love that will last a lifetime!

How to choose the right wedding photographer for you!

I remember being a bride years ago and trying to find the perfect photographer. It was HARD. It was a bit of a different world back then 5 in half years ago (it’s true!). Pinterest wasn’t a thing and there weren’t SO many photographers to choose from. I feel like the world has exploded with photographers these days! I can only imagine it would be ever harder to decide which one is the right fit. While thinking it over I think there are three main things to help you find the right photographer for your day!

  1. STYLE: This is one of the most important things to think about. I think it’s harder as a person who isn’t a photographer to spot the differences. But look at the photos. Are they bright and airy? Are they darker and moody? Are they clean and modern? Then think about your wedding. Would this be a good fit for your wedding? What is the style of your wedding? Can you envision your wedding being blogged on this photographer’s website? If yes…then they might be a good fit! What is most important to you about photos? Is it to capture emotion? Do you love artistic edits? Is it to feel beautiful? To tell your story? Every photographer has a slightly different eye and it’s important to think these things over.
  2. BUDGET: This is an obvious one but I am not going to talk about it in the usual way. I remember when I was getting married I had to decide between two photographers. The first was a really amazing photographer and we knew one of the photographers so we were going to get an amazing deal. The problem was I didn’t feel like that was my “style”. I just didn’t connect to the work although they were truly amazing. The second was a random photographer I had found online who was much more expensive. But I just felt a connection with her work. I wanted my wedding photographed by her. I loved her eye. So we decided to go with the second photographer. But rather than an all-day two photographer package that we were going to get, we went with a smaller 6 hour package to fit in our budget. Honestly it was one of the best decisions of my life! I think it’s better to go with a smaller package from a photographer you LOVE than a huge all day-albums included-bells and whistles- of a photographer you just kind of like.3.CONNECTION: I truly believe this is an important part of a wedding day. You need to both connect to the person taking the photos and also the person’s work. While talking about budget, I mentioned that I just clicked with the second photographer. I think it’s truly the biggest compliment when a client tells me that they “connect” to my work. I always give the advice when a client is telling me they don’t know who to choose to go with your heart. It may sound cliche but I truly believe that you should go with your gut. If you are reading this blog then I am sure photography is very important to you. It’s one of the only things you will have 20 years after your wedding and to show your grand children. It’s an investment for years to come so you want to make sure that the photography represents your wedding! I hope these tips help you find the right photographer!

Buffalo Backyard Wedding

2016-10-20_0055This is a “backyard wedding” like you have never seen before! When I heard that this was going to be a backyard wedding, I pictured the usual backdrop. When I was greeted with a golf cart at the parking lot I knew it was going to be a special one! They might as well rent this house out for weddings..it looks like a venue! This wedding was so perfect. I loved all the romantic details and the vintage touches. These two are high school sweethearts which I think says a lot about their relationship! It was an absolute pleasure photographing this day. I am honored to have been apart of that!
